Menu & AI Import
Snap your menu. Skip the retyping.
Upload a photo or PDF of the paper menu you already have. Quivi reads it into structured items — the dishes off your menu, laid out and ready to price — then hands you a guided review before anything goes live. From printed menu to selling floor without retyping the whole thing by hand.

The setup tax
Rebuilding every item by hand is why go-live slips
Every dish retyped, every VAT rate re-entered, every translation redone by hand — it's the slowest part of going live, and the printed version is stale the day you reprint.
Item by item
Typing out a hundred dishes, prices, and descriptions is hours you don't have before opening.
Translations drift
Printed menus can't switch languages — your guests get one version, in one tongue, frozen at print time.
One price, three places to fix
Change a price on paper and it's out of date on the POS, the QR menu, and the kitchen in the same breath.
AI Menu Import
Photograph the menu. Review. Done.
Drop in a PDF, JPG, or PNG and Quivi's MenuImporter parses it into structured items in the background. You get a guided review to check every line — nothing publishes blind.

How it works
From paper to selling in four steps
Start with the menu you already have. Quivi does the typing; you keep control of every decision that reaches a guest.
- 01 Import
Upload the paper menu
Send a PDF, JPG, or PNG. The MenuImporter parses it into structured items in the background while you carry on.
- 02 Review
Check every line
Review and apply in a guided UI — sort items into categories, attach modifier groups, fix a price. Nothing goes live blind.
- 03 Price
Set the rules
Layer Pricing Profiles by time-of-day, day-of-week, or channel and set Availabilities — a Happy Hour price that runs itself on schedule.
- 04 Sell
Push it everywhere
One menu drives POS item selection, the QR guest app in the guest's own language, and routes each item to the right Kitchen Display.
Setup
Photograph the menu. Don't rebuild it.
Every other setup makes you type the menu into the till by hand — each item, each price, each category — then look up and assign a VAT rate to every line, and, on many setups, enter the whole thing again in a separate ordering or delivery system. That's where go-live slips. With Quivi you photograph the paper menu or upload a PDF. It comes back structured into items and categories, you review it in one guided pass, and it goes live — priced, VAT-correct, and read by the till, the kitchen and the Guest app from one source. No second entry.
What you skip
- Type every item by hand — you photograph it; the import reads the items and prices off the page.
- Look up each VAT rate — country-aware rates are assigned for you, not researched line by line.
- Rebuild every category — the structure comes back grouped, ready to review in bulk.
- Re-enter it in a second system — where a separate ordering or delivery tool would make you. The menu you sell from is the one the till, kitchen and Guest app read. One menu, entered once.
Country-aware VAT
The right VAT rate lands with the item.
Every menu item carries a VAT rate. Quivi knows the country you trade in, so when you create an item — or bring a whole menu in via AI import — it assigns the rate your country's rules call for, instead of leaving you to look each one up. Portugal runs three tiers, so one menu can legitimately carry several rates at once; Quivi sorts which item sits where, and you don't memorise the table. Denmark is one flat rate across the board. Either way the books are right from the first save, and the fiscal documents (invoices) then carry the correct VAT.
Every rate is yours to override — Quivi sets the starting point, you keep the final say.

autoThe menu engine
A menu engine, not a spreadsheet
AI Import gets you a menu fast. Everything after that is built to price, route, and sell it precisely.
AI Menu Import
A photo or PDF becomes structured items you review and apply — a human in the loop on every one before it sells.
Categories & items
Hierarchical parent/child categories, drag-to-reorder, and items with price types Unit, Kilo, or Serving, multilingual descriptions, and images.
Modifier groups
Option sets like Size S/M/L or Toppings (max 3), with min/max selection rules and per-option pricing.
Pricing Profiles & Availabilities
Price one item differently by time, day, or channel; schedule Happy Hour to switch on and off without anyone touching the POS.
Stock control
Mark an item in or out of stock straight from the POS, and use show-when-not-available to decide what guests still see.
One menu, every surface
The same menu powers the POS, the QR guest app, and KDS routing by Location — edit once, it lands everywhere.
The day, in parts
The menu changes shifts, not you.
Set a time window once and the menu keeps it. Breakfast shows at 07:00, hides at 11:00. Lunch takes over. Dinner arrives on its own. Nobody swaps a board at the pass, and nobody forgets to. The rule runs the room; the staff run the floor. It is the same mechanism behind happy-hour pricing — a weekly window of days and times — pointed at the items themselves. When the window opens, the item is there. When it closes, it's gone from the guest's screen. A new dish can be set to appear the moment its window starts, so a seasonal add joins the right service without a second trip to the Backoffice.

automaticYour paper menu is already your setup
You don't start from a blank grid — the menu on the table is the fastest route into Quivi, snapped and parsed instead of rekeyed. What used to be an afternoon of data entry becomes a read-through and a click.

One source of truth
No second entry, no version drift
Build and price the menu once and every surface reads from the same source — there's no second system to keep in sync and no printed copy sliding out of date. Change a price or pull an item and the POS, the guest's phone, and the kitchen are current the moment you save.
