The Saturday-night stack

You’re running a business out of your DMs.

The ghosted cake

You quoted $80, bought the supplies, blocked the weekend. Then she stopped answering.

The no-show

Two dozen cupcakes, boxed and labeled, on the counter at 7 pm. “So sorry — can we reschedule?”

The 11 pm reconcile

Venmo feed in one hand, notebook in the other, matching payments to orders before you can sleep.

Your customers aren’t the problem. The system is.

One change fixes all three:
customers pay when they order.

When the money lands before the work starts, ghosting ends, no-shows stop mattering, and the notebook retires.

The Friday drop

Sold out before you preheat.

1Set this week’s menu — quantities per item.
2Your drop goes live at 6 pm. You post one link.
3Paid orders roll in — buyers check out with Apple Pay in seconds.
4Sold out. Saturday’s bake list is prepaid, with pickup windows and confirmation codes attached.

Hi! Could you do a 3-tier cake for Saturday? Budget around $45 🎂
Yes! Here’s your order — $45. Tap to confirm and you’re booked.
Just paid! Can’t wait 🙌
The custom order

Quote it. Accept it. It’s paid. Then you bake.

1She describes the cake — photo, date, budget — on your request form.
2You reply with a price and tap Accept.
3She pays right then. Status: Paid — you haven’t bought butter yet.

Declining is one tap too. No awkward DMs.

How it works

From price list to paid orders in an afternoon.

1

Snap your price list

Even handwritten. Your shop drafts itself — names, prices, pickup windows — and you review and go live. No website to build.

2

Share your link

Drop one link in the group, your bio, the DM thread. Run drops, take customs, cap quantities so you never oversell.

3

Orders arrive paid

Drops, customs and pickups in one place — every order paid up front, straight to your bank.

Everything in one link

Everything the notebook was doing. In one link.

Your shop link

One link for the group post, your bio and the DM thread. Your shop, your name.

Your customer list

Every checkout saves the buyer — name, phone, history. Export it anytime. It’s yours.

DM deal → paid order

Type “Custom cake — $45”, send the link. It becomes a real, paid, tracked order.

Pickup that runs itself

Pickup windows plus a 4-digit code at handoff. No more porch mysteries.

One-of-one safe

A quantity of 1 can only sell once. Auto sold-out at zero — no double-sold originals.

You got paid

A push the second they check out. Payouts to your bank on a clear, published schedule — and a year-end summary that makes tax season simple.

On the roadmap

Building in the open.

Here’s what’s next — clearly labeled, never pretending it’s here yet.

Coming soon

Tap to Pay at markets

Take cards in person with just your phone — same shop, same order list.

Drop alerts

Text your list when a drop goes live — with their consent, captured from day one.

Planned

Shipping for makers

Handmade goods beyond your neighborhood. Home-kitchen food can’t ship across state lines, so we won’t.

The honest part

Who’s building this — and exactly where it stands.

Quivi runs ordering, checkout and payments for restaurants and cafés in Portugal and Denmark today. Quivi Personal brings that engine home — rebuilt for one person selling from a kitchen or a craft table.

Not yet open for live sales — that’s exactly what this list is for. No fake reviews, no invented numbers. When there’s proof to show, you’ll see it here.

Good questions

The honest answers.

Is this real? Who’s behind it?+

Quivi builds the ordering and checkout platform running in restaurants and cafés in Portugal and Denmark today. Quivi Personal is the same engine, rebuilt for solo sellers, by the same team. Email us — a human replies.

What does it cost? What’s the catch?+

$0 for sellers — no subscription, no listing fees, no platform cut. When you sell, standard card processing applies (est. 2.9% + 30¢), and your buyer pays a small order fee at checkout (4%, min 50¢). That buyer fee is the whole business model — it’s why there’s nothing to charge you.

When and where does it launch?+

Texas first: a capped founding cohort of 150 sellers onboards in 2026, in signup order, DFW and Houston leading. It’s not open for live sales yet — that’s what this list is for.

Is selling home-baked food even legal?+

In Texas, the cottage food law makes it legal to sell most home-baked and shelf-stable foods from a home kitchen — one reason we’re starting there. We’ll point you to the right state resources at launch. We’re not your lawyer, and this isn’t legal advice.

Do I need an LLC or business license to join?+

No — joining takes an email. At launch you’ll need to be 18+ and pass a quick identity check to take payments, standard for any payments platform.

Why do my buyers pay a fee?+

Because you don’t. Like ticketing apps, a small buyer-side fee keeps the tool free for the person doing the work. It’s shown as its own line at checkout — never hidden in your prices.

Can I keep using Venmo?+

Yes. Keep Venmo for friends. Quivi Personal is for orders: a catalog, payment up front, pickup windows, and a customer list you own.

Do my customers need to download anything?+

No. Your link opens in their browser; they pay in seconds with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card.

Where does my money go, and when do I get paid?+

Payments are processed and held by a licensed US payments partner — never by Quivi. Payouts go straight to your bank on a clear schedule we’ll publish in plain English before launch.

What about taxes?+

You’ll get a plain-English year-end summary of what you sold — your numbers, organized. It’s a summary, not tax advice. (Texas having no state income tax doesn’t hurt.)

Pickup, delivery, or shipping?+

Pickup and local delivery at launch — that’s how home food actually moves. Shipping for handmade goods is planned. Home-kitchen food can’t ship across state lines, so we’ll never offer that.

I’m not in Texas — should I still join?+

Yes. Tell us your city — the waitlist map decides where we go next, and your state’s count moves it up the line.
